Kitchen Update 3

This is where we left off.   The sheetrock is now up and we have walls and a ceiling!

I spent a few days painting all of it.   My wrists and hands still haven't recovered.

So, now I guess we need a floor-

We got DuPont laminate in the Beech Block pattern.  There's the first row.

Yes it's plastic, but I did some tests-   I got samples of everything I liked and came home and pounded on them with a hammer.

The laminate didn't even scratch, so I decided it could probably survive living with me.

I also purposely picked a pattern that's the color of spilled coffee...

Here I am in all my glory.

Remodeling with OCD.   This row was half an inch off so I spent a morning and pulled them up and moved them.

Yeah, I have a whole garage full of cardboard now.

Yay.   I can put my table back!

On to the cabinets.   Jeff bought these cool stands to hold up the uppers.   The boxes we got are three-quarter thick plywood, so they're heavy.

Two uppers and some pantries.

By now I am so exhausted and arthritic I can only do dishes sitting down....

Time to put in some lowers.

I ordered the wrong window, and I ordered a slightly different replacement, so we have to wait for it to see exactly where to install these cabinets.  We made a temporary plywood countertop in the meantime.  The old cabinet down there is a placeholder for the dishwasher I don't have yet.

I totally love this sink.   It's huge!   (it's supposed to be undermounted, but we're cheating for the time being.)

I have been putting on the cabinet handles and we've got the stove working-  going to install the island cabinets today.

More pics real soon!   Here!
